·         Open to all current Juniors, Sophomores, Freshmen, or 8^th graders enrolled at Roncalli H.S. for the 2011-2012 School year

·         Clinics for learning material will be held: May 17^th, 18^th, and 19^th from 3:30-5:00pm in the Roncalli Gymnasium

·         Final Tryout on May 21^st beginning at 9am

CYO Athletic Physicals

2011-12 IHSAA / CYO Athletic Physicals at a  Reduced Rate

Once again this spring the Roncalli Athletic Department will partner with St. Francis Sports Medicine to provide the required IHSAA and CYO athletic physical examinations for the 2011-12 school year at the bargain reduced rate of $20.00. Physicals for RHS and South Deanery student athletes will be administered on Monday, May 9^th, from 6-9 PM at the St. Francis Hospital Sports Medicine Clinic at 700 E. Southport Road.

All student athletes must be signed up early for an appointment in order to receive a physical exam on 5/9/11!

South Deanery elementary school parents may call the Roncalli Athletic Office at 788-4094 2011 between the hours of  8:30 AM – 3:30 PM beginning Monday, April 25, to sign up for an appointment.

It is very important to note that the IHSAA does not recognize the validity of a completed physical form if signed by a nurse practioner only – the form must be signed by a licensed Medical Doctor!

Roncalli Spring Open House

Roncalli High School invites all fifth, sixth and seventh grade students and their parents to their Spring Open House on Wednesday, April 27.  It will begin with a formal program in the Fine Arts Center at 7:00 PM.  There will be breakout sessions on the following topics:  Catholic Identity/Faith Formation, Academic Programs, Guidance/College and Career Counseling, Athletics/Fine Arts/Extracurricular Clubs, Parents’ Perspective and Financial Aid.  Administrators will be available to answer individual questions and tours also will be available.  Come and explore the excellence that is found in abundance at Roncalli!  

SERVERS NEEDED

Servers are needed for Holy Thursday at 7:00pm and Holy Saturday's vigil at 8:00pm.  If you are interested, please sign-up this week-end on the sign-up sheet in the sacristy.

Friday, April 15 / Dress for the Cure / $1.00 donation

St. Jude School would like to support all families affected by cancer.  Your child may bring in a dollar donation on Friday, April 15^th to wear a pink shirt or an appropriate shirt with jeans.  Each child and staff member will be wearing pink ribbons to show our support.  Our thoughts and prayers are certainly with all who have been affected by this disease.  All donations will be sent to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Churchyard 400

FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!

Edgewood Preschool Cooperative is hosting its annual CHURCHYARD 400 on Sunday, May 1st from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.  Activities include bike races (for all ages), games, bouncehouse, food and a fantastic raffle with great prizes!  For more information, see the website at www.edgewoodpreschoolcoop.org.  Edgewood Preschool Cooperative is located just around the corner from St. Jude, at 4040 East Thompson Road.  Hope to see you there!!!

EASTER EGG HUNT - HELP NEEDED

Come join the fun at the St. Jude Easter Egg Hunt

Adult and teen volunteers are needed to help out with the Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 23 from 8-11am.  We will need help with set-up and activity stations in the cafeteria and gym.  We are also looking for some talented people who can do face painting and balloon animals for the children.  Please contact Tami Sulit at 784-3298 or by email at mtsulit@sbcglobal.net by April 13th if you can join us!

Jr. Rebel Girl's Basketball

We are now forming teams for the summer Lady Mac leagues. This is offered to incoming 7th, 8th and 9th graders for the 2011/2012 school year. The league begins in June. Family Stations of the Cross on April 8th

Don’t forget about Family Stations of the Cross on April 8^th at 7pm in the church.  The stations are interactive and are sure to help the children glean a deeper understanding of what Christ’s death and resurrection means for their life.  Contact Tammy Stewart with questions tstewart@stjudeindy.org.

EARLY DISMISSAL THURSDAY APRIL 14TH

School will dismiss at 1:30 on Thursday, April 14th. There will be no After-School Care.  Kindergarten will use their early dismissal schedule. 

SPIRIT DAY!

Friday, April 8, 2011 is St. Jude Spirit Day.  Students may dress in jeans and St. Jude Spirit Wear.  Sweatpants are not permitted.

MIKE'S CAR WASH 8TH GRADE FUNDRAISER

Starting Monday, April 4, the 8th graders are selling Mike's Car Wash tickets.  They cost $8 and are redeemable at any Mike's location for an Express Wash, which normally costs $8.  You can upgrade at Mike's if you prefer The Works or any other options.  So:  ultimately, there's no cost to you, the customer, and the 8th graders make a %age of the profits for their fundraising accounts.  Good deal!  See an 8th grader with any questions.
